New Zealand Earthquake Scam Email Warning
It has been brought to our attention by a number of our site readers that there has been a spam email in circulation using the Christchurch earthquake as an opportunity to prey on the good will of New Zealanders.
The emails, sent from “James McCoy” and claiming to be from “Donate4Charity NZ” use our name and branding to legitimise the scam content. The emails call for people to receive donated funds into their bank account from overseas for a 10% cut. This is a scam.
Please do not reply or send any funds. The full email is copied below so you know what to look out for.
This story has been picked up in the New Zealand media so hopefully no one will have fallen foul to this scam.
This is a terrible time for those in New Zealand and our thoughts go out to all those affected.
