John Legend and Gap Join Forces to Help Eliminate AIDS in Africa

Grammy award winning artist John Legend has joined forces with the Gap clothing label to create an exclusive RED Zone seating section for his concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City on August 13th 2009. Selected purchases from Gap stores in the NYC tristate area will include a special access code enabling shoppers to obtain one ticket in the reserved RED Zone section. Plus every ticket purchased will automatically receive a second ticket absolutely free, with a lucky few selected randomly to go backstage and meet Mr. Legend himself.

The proceeds from the RED Zone ticket sales will be to raise funds for HIV/AIDS programs in Africa supported by the Global Fund.Gap wll also be launching a new selection of RED Artist Edition T-shirts and turning the Gap store windows RED nationwide until August 12th, with 50% of the T shirt profits also going to the Global Fund to help eliminate AIDS in Africa.

John Legend is the protege of Kanye West and a huge star in the US with a string of hit in the UK. I’m going to be a bit self indulgent here and add one of my favourite songs ‘Ordinary People’ to the blog so that if you haven’t heard of him or his music, you can get a feel for his style.

John Legend said –

RED brings great artists and great brands together for a very important cause, which is ending AIDS in Africa. I’m proud to be partnering with Gap and RED on my upcoming Madison Square Garden concert, because I know the money raised will go directly to help get medicine to those who need it.

Fans can log on to www.gap.com/johnlegend to locate participating Gap stores in the New York tri-state area, with tickets available from TicketMaster upon recieving the special access code.
