Apply Now for The World of Difference UK

The World of Difference UK programme, supported by the Vodafone Foundation, has recently been launched in the UK to offer 500 people the chance to give their time to a charity of their choice. The 2 month paid programme is open to anyone over 18 years of age, and allows successful candidates the opportunity to donate their skills and experience to a UK based charity.

The World of Difference initiative currently sees 168 people at work in 13 countries across the globe, with many more joining the scheme this year. Once the successful applicant has been selected, the Vodafone Foundation will then pay their chosen charity a total of £2,500 in wages for the 2 month scheme, minus tax and National Insurance.

Director of the Vodafone Foundation, Andrew Dunnett, said –

For people who feel passionate about a charity or cause, or for those who simply have time on their hands, Vodafone’s World of Difference programme offers an ideal opportunity to help others whilst gaining valuable life and work experience. We’ve seen a huge surge of interest in UK-based charity placements, with over 127,000 Facebook fans following us on facebook.com/worldofdifference when we launched our International programme earlier this year.  World of Difference UK gives people who want to donate themselves, and get paid, the chance to put that passion into practice.

Vodafone UK will also be donating brand new mobile phones with credit to every one of the 500 successful applicants in the UK. This is a great chance to not only gain successful skills and experience which will look great on a CV, but also the chance to be paid for the time donated to the chosen charity. The Vodafone Foundation, formed 7 years ago, has invested over £100 million in projects across their 24 local Foundations worldwide.

The UK deadline for World of Difference applications is Tuesday 3rd November 2009, with the first placements beginning in January 2010.
