FARM-Africa was founded in 1985 and is a non-governmental organisation that works at the forefront of agricultural development in remote rural areas. With only a small office in the UK, a regional office in Nairobi and a country office in Addis Ababa, over 90% of FARM-Africa's staff are local people who work directly within their communities. By pushing for changes in policy to directly benefit those most in need, FARM-Africa has pioneered many new models of sustainable agriculture and livestock production.

FARM-Africa work directly with farmers and communities to help produce food using sustainable farming methods whilst also protecting the environment. By also providing the training and support for herders and forest communities, FARM-Africa can directly improve the management of crops, livestock and water access to some of the world's poorest communities.
